English I (Period 8)
Course Description
Emphasizes skill development on reading, writing, literature analysis, research skills, language skills, critical thinking, and cooperative learning. Major writing forms include expository and persuasive. In addition to the study of other forms of literature, novels read may include but not limited to the following: To Kill A Mockingbird, Fallen Angels, Romeo and Juliet, The Odyssey, Animal Farm, and The Pearl.
