Course Description
Chronological survey of religious, philosophical, and literary movement in American literature from, The Crucible, Flowers of Algernon, Of Mice and Men, The Great Gatsby, Ethan Frome, Raisin in the Sun, and other selected works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Skills are developed in close reading and literary analysis, working (for various purposes-narrative, persuasive-and with clear focus/coherence classroom discussion and presentations), critical thinking, research techniques and preparation for standardized tests (including PSAT, SAT and ACT.)
