AP English III (Period 1)

Course Description

A thematic survey of religious, philosophical, and literary movements in American literature from the 17th to the 20th century. A variety of poetry, essays, and short stories will be read with a focus on nonfiction. Literary selections may include but not limited to the following: Fahrenheit 451, The Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, The Road, Their Eyes Are Watching God, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, and The Catcher in the Rye.  AP students will be expected to take the AP Language and composition Exam in May. This course will include a summer reading list.
