Course Description
Students will develop and express ideas for artwork and compare and contrast the use of artistic elements and principles of design in personal artworks and those of others using vocabulary accurately. Students will experiment with design, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, electronic media, and fibers. Emphasis will be placed on the elements and principles of design. Students will be exposed to a high quality of media and techniques as well as acquire an appreciation for various cultures and styles through studies of historical/cultural aspects of art appreciation.
Participation in the Houston Livestock Art Contest and the district art exhibit will be mandatory for Art II and III.
